Sri Lanka’s maiden satellite launch has been delayed by five days due to technical difficulties and weather conditions.
The satellite Supreme Sat One was scheduled to be launched into space today from the Cee Chang Satellite Launch Centre in China with the cooperation of two China - Sri Lanka companies thus turning a new leaf in Sri Lanka's IT history.
The project is valued to be 320 million US dollars.
Facilities for Satellite Television Services are also scheduled to be provided from July next year through the scheduled satellite launch.
