Leader of the opposition Ranil Wickramasinghe states that action should be taken to prevent acts of violence against women in the country.

Wickramasinghe made this statement while taking part in a seminar organized by the National Trade Union Federation regarding the prevention of violence against women.

Meanwhile, the United Bhikku Front alleged that all the opposition parties including the United National Party are marauding.

Chief convenor of the UBF venerable Ulapane Sri Sumangala thero made this statement while taking part in a press conference held in Colombo under the patronage of Democratic National Alliance leader Sarath Fonseka.
