Concurrent to the incessant showers being experienced in several parts of the island disasters are being reported.
Two corpses of the three individuals who were washed away in the currents of the Meenawathura Canal in Neluwa-Galle yesterday have been discovered by authorities this morning.
Bothe individuals males, are said to be of the ages 57 & 45 respectively.
Meanwhile search operations are underway to locate the body of the third missing individual.
The trio had been caught in currents adjacent to the Meenawathura shoe bridge last evening.
Moreover the Centre for Disaster Management states that 270 families have been displaced in the Districts of Hambanthota & Monaragala respectively due to the inclement weather being experienced.
According to Duty Meteorologist at the Department of Meteorology Pabodha Karunapala gale winds & thundershowers would continue to effect several parts of the island today.
