No Sri Lanka's hurt in Bangladesh factory inferno

Sri Lankan High Commissioner to Bangladesh Sarath Weragoda states that no Sri Lankan's have been injured in the factory blaze which occurred in Ashuliya Dhaka, Bangladesh this morning.

According to High Commissioner Weragoda although many Sri Lankan's are employed at garment factories in Bangladesh, none were employed at this particular factory which was engulfed in a blaze during the wee hours of today.

124 persons had perished in the fire, the cause of which is yet to be ascertained by authorities.

Currently around 5000 Sri Lankan nationals are employed in Bangladeshe's garment sector.

Moreover Sri Lankan High Commissioner to Bangladesh Sarath Weragoda

expressing his views to our news team noted that 10 persons had been killed in an overpass collapse which occurred in Chittagong this morning, the countries second largest city.
