Political sources speculate that a cabinet reshuffle may occur in the foreseeable future.
According to these sources the reshuffle is most probably scheduled to take place prior to the 15th of December.
Several significant changes are set to dominate the planned reshuffle move with fresh appointments slated to be made to the ministries of Education, Electricity, External Affairs, Cooperatives & Internal Trade, Technology & Research.
Moreover Prime Minister D.M. Jayarathna who is currently receiving treatment in the US is due in the island this week.
It was only recently that President Mahinda Rajapaksa had visited the recuperating premier at hospital in the US.
However according to sources the reshuffle will not take place until the 3rd reading of the budget which is set to take place on the 8th of December.
