The bail applications of Malaka Silva & Rohan Wijerathna have been extended until the 28th of January next year.
The duo have been charged with having attempted to assault an officer of the army intelligence unit.
The decision in this regard was issued today when the case was taken up before Colombo-Fort Acting Magistrate Pavithra Pathirana.
The case was considered before Colombo-Fort's Acting Magistrate today since
its permanent magistrate Kanishka Wijerathna was not present.
Accordingly the case was not heard today & Presidents Council Hemantha Warnakulasooriya appearing on behalf of his clients requested of court to reconsider the case on a later date in January.
Hence it was deemed that the case would be called before court on the 28th of January.
According to our correspondents Malaka Silva had arrived at courts today in an unregistered vehicle while his father Minister Mervin Silva had also marked his presence.
