Inter provincial private bus strike in the South comes to an end

The private bus strike initiated in protest of the proposition to reduce the number of limited bus stops assigned to the long distance buses travelling from the Southern Province concluded this afternoon.

The strike was called off following a discussion held between the chairman of the National Transportation Commission, the Deputy Inspector General of traffic, and the relevant bus association representatives.

The chairman of the Matara Passenger Transport Company, A. K. H. Halpage spoke to our news team regarding the agreements arrived at, by the representatives who met for the discussion, following an inspection of the limited bus stops between Panadura and Colombo.

Speaking to our news team the chairman of the NTC Roshan Gunawardena confirmed that the strike initiated by inter provincial private bus services that began from the Southern Province has been called off.
