Red rain has been reported today as well in two regions of the island.
Residents of the Thena-gal-landa region belonging to the Monaragala divisional secretariat stated that red rain occurred for approximately 15 minutes yesterday.
Meanwhile, the Nitogama region in Galgamuwa had also experienced red rain today.
The residents of the region stated red rain fell for a short time following the heavy rain experienced in the region.
Red rain has been reported in a number of regions in the island as of now.
The region of Karuwala-gaswewa – Kuda-medawachchiya in Puttalam experienced red rain day before yesterday.
Meanwhile red rainfall was experienced in the Sevanagala, Hingurakgoda, Manampitiya and Padiyathalawa regions as well.
However, the met department is stating that various factors contribute towards red rain and that a DNA test can be carried out to definitely identify the cause of the red rain.
