Bone fragments of four more corpses were recovered from the premises of the Mathale General hospital today.
This brings the total number of corpses recovered from the site to 10.
The buried remains of these corpses were discovered on the 26th of
this month when trenches were dug to establish a bio gas unit at the
Mathale General hospital.
Initial trenches running about five feet deep revealed a few fragments of human bones.
Mathale Magistrate Chathurika de Silva who later inspected the site instructed the Judicial Medical Officer to submit a report regarding the remains.
According to District JMO Ajith Jayasena excavations on the site are
are being conducted based on an international methodology.
