Leader of the United National Party Ranil Wickremesinghe has decided to call in for explanation from party members who clocked in late during the parties recently held 54th of convention.
Accordingly the Leader of the UNP, Ranil Wickremesinghe himself would conduct these inquiries during the course of today & tomorrow.
Public representatives of the UNP were informed to take seats at the venue at 9.30 am on the day of the summit.
Those who had arrived late for the convention include Parliamentarian Hareen Fernando, Western & Sabaragamuwa Provincial Councillors Srinath Perera, Nihal Farook & several other party members.
Several senior members of the party are of the view that those who attended late, did so deliberately to preclude from casting their votes with concern to the parties resolution, which was adopted during the party convention that day.
Accordingly the leader of the party had decided to call in for explanations.
Meanwhile Media Spokesperson of the UNP Parliamentarian Gayantha Karunathilleke expressed the following views regarding the recently held party convention during a media briefing held in Colombo today.
Moreover Parliamentarian Gayantha Karunathilleke noted that the government's universal solution to any issue was the appointment of committees.
