The Parliamentary Select Committee appointed for investigating the impeachment against the Chief Justice is scheduled to meet for the third time today.
Chief Justice Dr. Shirani Bandaranayake appeared before the PSC when it met yesterday for the second time.
On this occasion the Chief Justice requested that five weeks be given to her for providing replies in detail to the charges made against her.
The PSC will give its decision on the request when it meets today.
The Chief Justice is also scheduled to meet again at 2.30 p.m. tomorrow.
The Chief Justice appeared before the PSC for four hours and 45 minutes yesterday.
The PSC met for the first time on 23rd last month.
Agitations against the Chief Justice were held yesterday in front of the Supreme Court complex and the parliament roundabout.
Similarly before the Chief Justice left the Supreme Court, leaders of all religions participated in an Adhishtaana Satyagraha or the religious rite of resolve.
