It is reported that a large number of vehicles were stalled as a result of substandard diesel from a fuel pumping station that belongs to the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation in the Tissamaharama town.
Vehicles that pumped diesel after 7pm last night had stalled.
An employee of the fuel pumping station stated that a diesel bowser from the Sapugaskanda storage facility had arrived at the filling station at approximately 6.30pm and it is reported that the bowser belonged to the owner of the filling station.
According to our news correspondent a tense situation arose at the filling station after the owners of the stalled vehicles had arrived at the filling station to complain and it is reported that several individuals had damaged the glass windows of the station.

The senior spokesperson of the CPC stated that they had received a complaint regarding this incident and that instructions have been given to the CPC area manager to conduct an investigation into this.
