All opposition members of parliament walked out of the house today stating that the Parliamentary Select Committee appointed to investigate the impeachment motion brought against the chief justice is trying to obtain a one sided verdict.
Subsequently the parliamentary proceedings were carried out with the participation of only government MPs.
Member of the PSC Vijitha Herath today attempted to present a proposal in parliament trying to postpone the activities of the PSC by a month.
Meanwhile the 4 opposition members who are part of the PSC met with the leader of the opposition Ranil Wickramasinghe today at the opposition leader's office in the parliamentary complex.
It was based on the instructions received there that John Amaratunga, Lakshman Kiriella, Vijitha Herath and R. Sambandan took part in the PSC proceedings today at 1.30pm.
