The Parliamentary Select Committee appointed to investigate the impeachment motion filed against Chief Justice Dr. Shirani Bandaranaike submitted its findings before parliament this morning.
Upon submission of the report by Chairman of the PSC Minister Anura Priyadharshana Yapa, Speaker Chamal Rajapaksa had consented to host
a 10 day debate regarding the report.

Moreover Chief Opposition Whip John Amarathunga was also provided an opportunity to express his views.
Meanwhile Minister Nimal Siripala De Silva speaking in parliament this morning asserted 3 amongst the several charges levelled against Chief Justice Dr. Shirani Bandaranaike have been proven based on the findings of the PSC appointed to investigate the impeachment.
According to Minister Nimal Siripala De Silva charges 1, 4 & 5 have been proven, while the chief justice has been acquitted of charges 2 & 3.
The charge sheet ratified by 117 signatories included 14 prominent accusations against the Chief Justice.
Speaking further Minister Nimal Siripala De Silva expressed these views.
Minister Wimal Weerawansa who also expressed his views in parliament stated that if any party had doubts regarding the findings of the PSC such parties were able to challenge these findings.
