A minor tremor was felt in Ampara yesterday as well.

The tremor was felt at around 6.55 last evening from Wadinagala, Devalahinda and Pallangala areas.

This was also reported on the devices installed in Devalahinda recently to detect such tremors.

Residents expressed their views regarding yesterday’s tremor as follows.

We also inquired from the Geological Survey and Mines Bureau regarding this latest tremor.

Chairman of the Bureau Dr. N. P Wijayananda expressed these views.

Several reports were received during the recent past that unidentified lights were witnessed in the night skies.

Residents of Indikola-pelessa in Sevanagala explained regarding the phenomenon experienced yesterday.

However, Professor Chandana Jayaratne at the Arthur C Clarke centre stated that such lights are later identified as those caused by certain lighting devices used by people.
