An emergency meeting of the executive committee of the Bar Association is currently underway in Colombo.
The discussion is said to focus on the Parliamentary Select Committees decisions which convicted Chief Justice Dr. Shirani Bandaranaike of several charges filed against her in an impeachment motion.
Accordingly the Bar Association is also set to decide on the future course of its action regarding the PSC's verdict.
The PSC appointed to investigate the impeachment motion filed against Chief Justice Dr. Shirani Bandaranaike officially concluded its activities yesterday.

Meanwhile our news team inquired from Deputy Speaker Chandima Weerakkodi if the PSC's verdict regarding the Chief Justice would be declared void in the event of the Supreme Court declaring that such a ruling was invalid.
Expressing his views Deputy Speaker Chandima Weerakkodi noted that the verdict of the PSC would not be affected since activities of the PSC had already concluded.
