Police Media spokesman SSP Prishaanta Jayakody said that the Pooneryn - Kavudaarimunai beach excavations in search of dead bodies of 31 out of 55 persons inside the Lion Air plane destroyed by an LTTE missile attack has been temporarily suspended.  

While these excavations began last Saturday, although clothes were recovered in the excavations yesterday it had not been confirmed that the clothes that of persons buried in the location.

However the police media spokesman said that those body fragments would be searched and tests will begin soon.
