Court activities were faced with obstruction as a result of lawyers in various areas boycotting their duties in protest against the impeachment against the Chief Justice.
While lawyers in several courts have decided to refrain from their duties today as well, lawyers island-wide will engage in a one-hour agitation.
Lawyers at the Colombo High Court, Colombo Fort Magistrate's Court and District Court are scheduled to refrain from their duties duties.

Similarly the Galle District Court and Magistrate Court lawyers too have decided to refrain from their duties today as well.
In addition Northern Province lawyers refrained from their duties from yesterday.
They have decided to boycott their duties for four days.
However the Northern Province Bar Association is scheduled to meet today and discuss about their future line of action.
Work in many Courts was impeded as a result of lawyers at several courts refraining from work yesterday in protest against the impeachment charges levelled against the Chief Justice.
Meanwhile Kandy High Court lawyers too have decided to boycott work today.
Similarly reports say that Kandy Bar Association is getting ready to submit a special proposal at the BASL meeting that will be held on 15th this month.
They propose that a petition be submitted to the Bribery Commission for probing the assets of the 117 Ruling Party MPs who put forward an impeachment motion with regard to the Chief Justice and the seven Government representatives of the PSC
Meanwhile, Participating at the media briefing Attorney-at-law J. C. Weliamuna said a group of lawyers officially decided to refrain from their duties for one hour from 10 to 11 this morning.
