The Consumer Affairs Authority officials yesterday seized 7,000 kilograms of dried fish unfit for human consumption.
The haul valued at 5.2 million rupees was stored to be sold to unsuspecting consumers at a shop. It was seized during a special raid carried out in Pettah.
CAA sources said that strict legal action will be taken against the vendor.
The CAA has embarked on special missions to crackdown on illegal and undesirable businesses to provide the safe and guaranteed service to the consumers.
