Sri Lanka expresses concern over North Korean rocket launch

The government of Sri Lanka issuing a statement has expressed its concern over the rocket launched yesterday by North Korea.

The rocket was launched using ballistic missile technology which is considered to be a violation of the United Nations Security Council Resolution.

The Sri Lankan government in its release urges the relevant stakeholder to recognize the imperative need for dialogue and cooperation at this juncture.

The statement also urges the concerned parties to work in close coordination within the existing UN Security Council Resolutions in order to ensure peace and stability in the Korean Peninsula.
