The Election Secretariat has decided not to extend the registration of 15 political parties that have not submitted 2011 accounts reports yet.

An Election Secretariat spokesman said that several political parties represented in parliament too are among political parties that have not submitted annual reports.

While every political party should submit its annual reports to the Election Secretariat, it has been made compulsory in the Political Party Registration Act.

However while more than 15 political parties have not yet handed over the 2011 annual accounts report, the Election Secretariat said that they have been given time till the end of this month to submit it.

Reports say that it has been decided not to include in the list of extension of 2013 party registration the names of parties not submitting their reports within this deadline.
