Judicial Service Association has made a request to the President to appoint a fair and impartial committee while amending standing orders and enacting the necessary legislations.

The JSA releasing a statement pointed out that the committee’s should be transparent and that justice was not delivered by the Parliamentary Select Committee appointed earlier.

The statement also included the opinions of the Chief Prelates and other religious leaders regarding the impeachment process.

Meanwhile, law firm representing Chief Justice Dr. Shirani Bandaranaike, Neelakandan and Neelakandan had forwarded a letter to the speaker Chamal Rajapakse stating that the behaviour of certain members of the PSC was unacceptable.

The letter contains a list of defamatory words used by the PSC members against the Chief Justice and it also stated that the committee members had insulted the Chief Justice of the country.
