In related developments Minister for Disaster Management Mahinda Amaraweera stated financial subsidies required to provide relief for those affected by the adverse weather have been made available to district secretaries based on the magnitude of their requirements.

Meanwhile Army Media Spokesperson Brigadier Ruwan Wanigasooriya made the following clarifications regarding the execution of relief efforts which are currently underway supported by the assistance of the army.

Meanwhile, the Navy has dispatched flood relief assistance to the areas affected by bad weather.

SLN Craft and 15 flood relief teams comprising 106 Naval personnel have been deployed to assist people in the areas of Wilgamuwa, Aralaganwila, Polonnaruwa, Manampititya, Vakarai, Maha Oya, Wariyapola, Bakamoona and Batuhena.
