The Appeals Court states that it will make a statement at 11 a.m. tomorrow regarding weather a court order would be issued in connection to the petition which was filed against the Parliamentary Select Committee by Chief Justice Dr. Shirani Banadaranaike.
The statement in this regard was made when the petition was called up before courts today.
The Chief justice in her petition had requested of the Appeals Court to issue an interim injunction order proscribing the enactment of the PSC's report.
The petition also attempts to move court to issue notice against respondents cited in the case which include, members of the PSC, the Speaker & the General Secretary of Parliament.

presented facts against the PSC when it was called up before a trial at bar comprising of Appeal's Court justice's S. Sri Skandharaja, A.W.A. Salaam & Anil Gunarathna.
Subsequent to the day's proceedings attorney's representing the Chief Justice expressed their views to the media.

Meanwhile signatures were obtained in Anuradhapura today for a petition which calls for the immediate withdrawal of the impeachment motion filed against the Chief Justice.
