29 people have died and 11 are missing due to the inclement weather conditions.

The Centre for Disaster Management stated that 2043 houses have been completely destroyed by heavy rains and 3 hundred thousand and 364 people have been affected in total and out of that 56 thousand 627 individuals are still in relief camps.

Deputy Media Director of the Centre for Disaster Management Sarath Lal Kumara expressed these views regarding the disaster situation.

The Department of Meteorology stated that showers are to be expected in many areas of the island today.
