100 Chinese nationals residing in Sri Lanka had been arrested yesterday for laundering money from Chinese nationals using the internet.
Police media spokesperson SSP Prishantha Jayakodi stated that the investigation was carried out based on information received from the Chinese police.
A team of Chinese policemen arrived in Sri Lanka to assist the investigation.
The suspects are scheduled to be produced before courts today.
Meanwhile, a foreign couple who were in the possession of 450, one hundred dollar notes worth of 5.8 million rupees has been take in to custody by the police special task force yesterday.
