The Centre for Disaster Management states that 17 thousand 160 individuals severely inconvenienced due to the inclement weather who belong to a total of 5025 families are being housed at 100 relief camps at present.

Meanwhile, a group of residents from Mukkandaluwa-Weherakele in Arachchikattuwa, engaged in a protest this morning before the Weherakele Raja Maha Viharaya charging that they had not received relief aid dispensed to flood victims.

Expressing their views to our news team these individuals charged that they were severely inconvenienced, due to the floods.

When contacted by our news team Divisional Secretariat of Arachchikattuwa H.S.S. Lusena had this to say.

However Minister of Disaster Management Mahinda Amaraweera stated that the relevant Government Agents of the affected areas were instructed on how to deal with errant officials.
