Minister of Education Bandula Gunawardhana states that students would be awarded full marks for the 19 questions which were pre-disclosed during this years GCE ordinary level science paper one.
Minister Gunawardhana's comments in this regard came during a media briefing which was held at the Ministry of Education today.
According to the minister a panel of education sector luminaries had drawn up on the conclusion.
The three persons placed under arrest regarding the divulgence of the questions were placed under remand custody until the 28th of this month subsequent to having being produced before Kaduwela Magistrate Lanka Jayarathna today.
A private tutor, his aide & 2 other individuals, both employees of the printing division of the Department Of Examinations were placed under arrest by authorities in connection to the incident.
Speaking further during today's media briefing, Minister Bandula Gunawardhana added that students who were unable to sit for the mathematics & aesthetic papers due to the unfavourable weather would be presented with another opportunity to sit for the papers on the 9th & 10th of February.
Commissioner General of Examinations W.M.N.J Pushpakumara who also expressed his during the media briefing stated that a special mechanism was in place with the assistance of the Criminal investigations Department to foil such attempts in future.
