Teachers Associations question whether the ministry of education can guarantee that other question papers of G. C. E. Ordinary Level subjects have not been pre-disclosed.
5 suspects are taken in to custody for the incident on disclosing 19 questions of the Science MCQ paper.
A machine operator of the examination department is also among the suspects.
The General Secretary of the Lanka Teachers’ Union Joseph Stalin questioned as to how the Ministry of Education can guarantee that other examination papers were not pre disclosed.
Deputy Education Minister Vijith Wijayamuni Soyza informed our news team that it had been revealed during the preliminary investigations the machine operator who has been apprehended has torn a piece of science MCQ paper and handed it over to the suspected tuition teacher.
However, the deputy minister also stated that there is no evidence that the other question papers have been pre disclosed.
Meanwhile, sources state that the Tuition teacher who is currently in remand custody had purchased the 2nd and 3rd pages of the Science MCQ paper which included questions from 21 to 40 at a price of 100,000 Rupees.
The CID has confirmed that the model question paper provided by the Tuition teacher had included these 19 questions.
It is stated that a machine operator at the press of the examinations department who is also in custody had provided the question paper.
