The National Safety Day commemoration in remembrance of the 2004 Tsunami disaster will be held in Badulla this year.

Disaster Management Minister Mahinda Amaraweera stated that the event which will be held tomorrow morning will also obtain the attention of the public towards natural disasters.

The public is requested to observe a 2 minute silence from 9.25 to 9.27am in remembrance of those who lost their lives due to the Tsunami.

A special train will travel tomorrow in remembrance of the tsunami victims who travelled in the train that was destroyed near Paraaliya railway station.

The train will be travelling from Colombo Fort station to Paraaliya.

The Railway Superintendent L. A. R. Rathnayaka stated that there will be a pirith chanting in the train.
