The Debate on the report compiled on the impeachment motion brought against the Chief Justice is currently being held in Parliament.

 

The Impeachment report was produced before parliament by Leader of the House Minister Nimal Siripala De Silva.

 

Presenting the proposal the Minister stated that the Chief Justice was found guilty in the proceeding carried out by the Parliamentary select committee and hence a motion was being moved to remove the Chief Justice from her position.

 

Minister Thissa Karaliyedda had seconded the motion.

 

Chief opposition whip MP John Amarathunga joining the impeachment debate said that since the PSC impeachment report is not tabled in Parliemant, it cannot be debated.
