Kelaniya requests for Basil

Puttlam District United People's Freedom Alliance Parliamentarian Arundika Fernando states that he would not accept the UPFA's Kelaniya Electorate Organiser post.

Parliamentarian Arundika Fernando made this statement in reply to an inquiry made by our news team subsequent to the resignation of Minister Mervyn Silva who resigned as the UPFA's Kelaniya Electorate Organiser.


However against this backdrop UPFA members of the Kelaniya electorate have requested of officials to appoint Minister Basil Rajapaksa as the electorates organiser.

Chairman of the Kelaniya Pradeshiya Sabha Prasanna Ranaweera made the following clarifications to our news team in this regard.


According to internal sources within the SLFP a decision in this regard has not yet been formed.
