Commonwealth Secretary General arrives in Sri Lanka in February

Commonwealth Secretary General Kamalesh Sharmaa says that Sri Lanka can assist in obtaining solutions to constitutional crises by following Commonwealth values and Principles.


Making a statement with regard to this country's impeachment procedure for removing the Chief Justice, the Commonwealth General Secretary said that he hoped to exchange views with Sri Lanka in the near future.


The Commonwealth General Secretary also pointed out that in matters pertaining to the constitution it was important to act in a manner the commonwealth values and principles were safeguarded.


The Commonwealth Secretary General is scheduled to tour Sri Lanka this February.
