Former LTTE international arms procure, K. P. alias Kumaran Padmanathan is getting ready to give a humane face to the controversial LTTE Sencholai children's home.
Kumaran Padmanathan told our news team that accordingly the centre would be re-inaugurated with 40 children on 20th instant.
He said that the Government approval too has been granted for this.
Kumaran Padmanathan explaining about it further to our news team stated as follows:
The Sri Lankan Government had earlier alleged that the Sencholai Children's Home had then been used by LTTE Leader Velupillai Prabhakaran as a home looking after LTTE's child soldiers.
It had also been reported that 53 child soldiers had been killed in an attack on the Sencholai children's home in Kilinochchi in 2006.
However the Sri Lankan Government had charged that Velupillai Prabhaakaran had continued to use the Sencholai chidren's home as a centre for looking after child soldiers even after the said incident.
