Sluice gates of several reservoirs within 4 districts released; More showers expected

The Department of Irrigation states that concurrent to the incessant rains being experienced in the North, North Central & Uva provinces of the island, the sluice gates of several reservoirs located in 4 districts have been released.

Janaki Meegasthanne expressing her views to our news team added that all 10 sluice gates of the Parakrama Samudraya had been unlatched 9 inches each.


Moreover the Department of Meteorology states that the North Eastern Monsoon condition which continues to affect the island at present may prevail during the course of the next two days as well.
