Tuesday, 29 January 2013 - 12:45

The UNP states that the Minister of Power and Energy Patali Champika Ranawaka was removed from his ministerial portfolio based on pressure from India.

UNP General Secretary Thissa Attanayaka made this statement while speaking at a press conference held today in Colombo.

Meanwhile, the JVP had also convened a press conference at their party headquarters to express its views regarding the cabinet reshuffling that took place yesterday.

Speaking at the press conference propaganda secretary of the JVP MP Vijitha Herath stated that the cabinet reshuffle was not done according to proper methodology.

Although our news team attempted to contact Ministers Nimal Siripala De Silva, Maithreepala Sirisena, Dalas Alahapperuma and Patali Champika Ranawaka to obtain the stance of the government with regard to the cabinet reshuffle our efforts were futile.
