Law entrance subject curriculum revised

Principal of the Colombo Law College Dr. W.D. Rodrigo states that the registration of novice students would commence today.

According to Dr. Rodrigo immediate steps would also be formulated to revise the core curricula of the law entrance examination.

The registration of novice students was procrastinated on several recent occasions, while today's decision to enrol them was followed by a meeting

held under the aegis of  Chief Justice Mohan Peiris yesterday at the premises of the Legal Aid Council.

During yesterday's meeting it was also decided to enrol an additional 242 students.

Principal of the Colombo Law College Dr. W.D. Rodrigo meanwhile speaking to our news team expressed the following views in this regard.

Commenting on revisions made to the subject core curricula of the law entrance examination Dr. Rodrigo had this to say.

Meanwhile Ramzi Bawa of the Law Entrance Students Federation states that

augmenting enrolment numbers or revisions to current curricula would not solve the existing issue.

Moreover attorney-at-law Priyadharshana Gamage who appeared on behalf of the marginalised law entrance students expressed his discontent regarding the new decisions.

Meanwhile the Ministry of Higher Education states that once the Supreme Courts verdict is issued the cut off marks of students who sat the 2011-2012 Advance Level examination would be announced.
