President pays homage to Bodhgaya

President Mahinda Rajapaksa who is on a two day visit to India paid his respects to Bodhgaya today.


Subsequent to having paid floral tributes to Bodhgaya, President Rajapaksa had participated in a special bodhipooja before the Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi.


Moreover according to the Presidential Media Unit President Rajapaksa declared open the golden fence which was constructed surrounding the bodhi at the premises of the Indian Maha Bodhi Association.
