President for Jaffna for 2 days.

President Mahinda Rajapaksa is scheduled to begin a two-day tour of Jaffna today.


The Predisent's Media Unit said that the President was scheduled to participate in a number of official functions during the tour.


Although it had been earlier planned for the President to tour Jaffna for participating in the Thai Pongal Feast, it was later decided to postpone the tour due to inclement weather.


During this tour the President is scheduled to participate in functions such as inauguration of the water project at Chunnaakam, Jaffna and the Jetty and Breakwater at the Naagadeepa Buddhist Temple.


The Media Unit said that in addition the President was scheduled to participate in the Jaffna District Committee meeting that would be held at the Jaffna Weerasingham Hall.
