Commonwealth Secretary General meets the Speaker

A discussion between the Secretary General of the Commonwealth Kamalesh Sharma and speaker Chamal Rajapakse is currently underway in Parliament.


Secretary General of the Commonwealth Kamalesh Sharma arrived in the Island last Sunday to conduct an assessment regarding the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting scheduled to be held in Colombo in November.


However, the Commonwealth Secretary General Office released a statement saying that the Secretary General had not issued a statement regarding Sri Lanka hosting CHOGM.


The statement further said that a statement regarding the meeting will be issued tomorrow which is also the final day of the Secretary General of the Commonwealth Kamalesh Sharma's visit.


Deputy speaker Chandima Weerakkody made the following statement regarding the discussion that is currently being held between the commonwealth secretary general and the speaker.
