The Fundamental Rights Petition filed by 11 trade unions against the inappropriate investment of the Employees Provident Fund was annulled by the Supreme Court today.

This was when the petition in this regard was taken up for a second occasion today before a three judge panel of the Supreme Court which also included Chief Justice Mohan Peiris.

The three judge panel had ruled that information pertaining to the investment of EPF funds should be constantly notified to its subscribing members.

Hence the Supreme Court had ruled that the petition would be annulled devoid of arbitration.
