Variance in decay patterns of skeletal remains in Matale

Investigations carried out so far have found that skeleton remains that were found from the mass grave at the premises of the Matale hospital have shown a variance in decaying.


Professor Raj Somadeva of the Post Graduate Division of the Kelaniya University stated that these bones are been sent for further laboratory tests.




Speaking further he also stated that soil samples will also be sent for further tests to ascertain the reason for the variance in the decay of bones.




154 skeleton remains were found during excavations carried out from the 26th of November till the 12th of this month.
