Attorney at Law Upul Jayasuriya has been appointed the chairman of the Bar Association of Sri Lanka

Attorney at Law Upul Jayasuriya has been appointed the chairman of the Bar Association of Sri Lanka following the election to choose the chairman.

 

According to Solicitor General Yuwanjan Wijethilake the new chairman of the BASL Attorney at Law Upul Jayasuriya obtained 1471 votes in Colombo.

 

President’s Counsel Tirantha Wala-li-yadda who also contested in the election obtained 330 votes and Attorney at Law R.R.S. Thangaraja obtained 77 votes in Colombo.

 

Therefore Attorney at Law Upul Jasyasuriya was appointed the new Chairman of the BASL by a majority of 1141 votes.
