The residents of several villages in Puttalam engaged in a protest today in front of the Kottukachchiya College demanding a permanent solution to the wild elephant issue.

The protest, which was carried out along the main road in front of the Kottukachchiya College caused severe traffic problems.

The protest was carried out by the residents of the Kottukachchiya, Bogahayaya, Palugaswewa and Mallamkulam villages.

The villagers demanded expedient solutions from officials regarding the issues caused by wild elephants entering their villages.
