Secretary of the Muslim Forum Aziz Nizardeen lodged a complaint with the Criminal Investigations Department today stating that he had received death threats since he had opposed the All Ceylon Jamiyyathul Ulama.

 

Expressing his views to our news team Secretary of the Muslim Forum Aziz Nizardeen noted that since he had been highly vocal regarding the actions of the ACJU, he had allegedly received continuous death threats.

Meanwhile the leader of the Muslim-Tamil National Alliance Asath Sally has submitted a letter United Nations Secretary General Ban-Ki-Moon stating that the Muslim community was marginalized due to the Halal issue.

 

However addressing a media briefing held in Colombo today Western Provincial Councillor Udaya Gammampila charged that the ACJU was attempting to create ethnic divisions based on the Halal issue.
