Fireworks+accident+leads+to+a+death+at+a+wedding

An individual has died following a fireworks related accident at a wedding party in Bokundara – Piliyandala yesterday.

 

The deceased was a 38 year old resident of Wishwa Kalaa waththe in Piliyandala.

 

He had succumbed to his injuries after having been admitted to the Colombo National Hospital.

 

When we inquired regarding such accidents from the Secretary of the All Island Fireworks Manufacturers Association Stanely Dissanayaka, he stated that certain varieties of firecrackers should be lit only by the manufacturers.
