Kelaniya University Postgraduate Institute Professor Raaj Somadeva says that the final report of the investigations of the mass grave found in the Matale hospital premises will be released next week.

The professor said so in response to a query our news team made with regard to a charge the JVP has leveled.

Participating at a media briefing held in Colombo yesterday JVP MP Anura Kumara Dissanayake said that these demises had not been natural deaths.

However Professor Raaj Somadeva says that this report will be made available on 20th of March.

This mass grave was found on 23rd November last year when preparing the ground for constructing the Bio-gas Unit at the Matale Hospital premises.

The Matale mass grave excavation activities ended on 12th last month.

While in these excavations, 154 human skeleton fragments were found, out of these 141 were skulls.
