The navy arrested another 34 Indian fishermen for entering Sri Lankan waters illegally this morning.

The arrest came within hours after the navy had arrested 19 Indians and seized their boats inside Sri Lankan waters.

Navy spokesman Kosala Warnakulasuriya said that the 34 Indians were arrested off the Delft islands this morning.

He said that 5 boats used by the fishermen when they entered Sri Lankan waters were also seized.

Navy spokesman Kosala Warnakulasuriya said that the fishermen had crossed the international maritime boundary line off Mannar.

Meanwhile, Question Hour was stalled in both the houses of the Indian Parliament today as UPA constituent DMK and opposition members created uproar over the arrest of Indian fishermen by Sri Lanka.

DMK and AIADMK members trooped into the Well of the Lok Sabha while three AIADMK members squatted in the Well of the Rajya Sabha demanding that the government make efforts to ensure release of over 50 fishermen arrested by the Sri Lankan navy.

DMK, AIADMK, CPI and VCK members were waving placards demanding the release of Indian fishermen arrested by the Sri Lankan navy.
