Sri Lanka not affected by cyber attack - says .lk ownership

Cyber experts have identified the cyber attack that crippled internet activity as a distributed denial-of-service attack.

 

The TechCERT institute stated that this attack did not affect the internet service in Sri Lanka.

 

TechCERT is the institution under which .lk websites are registered.

 

Manager of the Engineering Service Division of TechCERT Kushan Sharma stated that the attack had targeted the spamhause website which is an information sharing website.

 

He further stated that this is being considered the largest cyber attack on the internet.
