Sale of medical equipment at retail stores banned

Saturday, 30 March 2013 - 18:49

The Ministry of Health states that a special circular would be issued within the coming weeks proscribing the sale of medical & surgical equipment at retail stores.

The National Cosmetic Devices & Drugs Regulatory Authority states that this decision has been based on several complaints received by it regarding the sale of surgical gloves & disposable syringes at stalls located in and around hospital.

The Ministry of Health notes that the quality of these appliances is below the required standard & thus the decision to issue the proposed circular had been reached.
